Director

Greetings, I pray this letter finds you well. My name is Abigail Iron Rope and I am blessed to serve the Baton Rouge community as the Director of Early Childhood Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church. My role is to supervise the daily operations of Trinity Lutheran Preschool, to oversee the daily operations of Trinity Lutheran Child Development Center and to orchestrate the Children’s Ministry program at Trinity Lutheran Church.

I have been in the field of early childhood education for nearly 13 years and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development as well as an Associate’s degree in Psychology. I am certified on the Toddler and PreK tools for CLASS observations (a tool used throughout the country to assess the effectiveness of teacher/child interactions), as well as reliable in Teaching Strategies Gold (a child assessment tool used by the Department of Education in Louisiana. I have also served as a certified trainer for the State of Louisiana through the Louisiana Pathways system for many years.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing many roles as an early childhood educator from when I began my career as a two year old teacher in 2004, to my time at a technical assistance coach and trainer for child care centers and in-home providers throughout the southeast region of Louisiana. Most recently, I served as the Director of Early Childhood Ministries at St. John’s Lutheran Church and Children’s Center in Bakersfield, CA.

I believe in the value of early childhood education and know that it is our responsibility to ensure every child gets a solid foundation to ensure their best chance at academic success. While I am sure we can all agree academics are incredibly important, I would share that I view our role as a Christian preschool as an outreach of Trinity Lutheran Church as even more important. It is our responsibility to extend on our mission to Praise God, Love, Grow, and Share our faith in Christ, with the children and families we serve.  It is our mission to ensure each child and family that comes through Trinity Lutheran Preschool and Trinity Lutheran Child Development Center experiences the love and support of you, our church family.

I appreciate your interest in both Trinity Oaks Preschool and Trinity Lutheran Child Development Center and I look forward to partnering with your family in the development of your child. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at aironrope@tlcbr.org.

In His Service,

Abigail Iron Rope
