Trinity Oaks Preschool - S Harrells Ferry Location

June 6, 2017 - This video was created as a series of updates for our new construction of our permanent campus as well as the modular buildings for our Child Development Center.  Our director toured what was available at the time.  A lot has changes since this video was produced!  Be sure to go to our YouTube channel to get more updates.

Thank you for your interest in Trinity Oaks Preschool which will serve the Baton Rouge community as a ministry and outreach of Trinity Lutheran Church. Our church has been in the process of planning, building and opening a new eight classroom preschool as well as a new worship center for several years. As you may be able to see, there is a lot happening toward the back of the Trinity Oaks property as we progress toward achieving these goals.

When the flood devastated so many of our communities in August of 2016, Trinity Lutheran Church saw a need in the community for a quality preschool program as so many of our community centers and in-home providers were unable to continue operation. As a response to this need, we applied for and received a grant to allow us to develop a smaller three classroom preschool, serving children ages 6 weeks through Pre-K, to help support some of the early learning needs of our community. Since the funding for this location has been granted to Trinity Lutheran Church to help with flood relief, we are offering a 10% tuition discount to all families who have been affected by the flooding through the end of this calendar year. We hope this will allow us to provide a much needed service to many children whose early education was displaced when their centers flooded.

We are excited about the opportunity to expand our ministry to the Trinity Oaks campus and are working diligently to open our new preschool as soon as possible; however, we do not have a confirmed opening date at this time. We are doing everything in our power  to open our new center in August.  We have nearly completed our playsground and decking and are finishing work in the administrative building to do in order to prepare our center for opening. While the rain has definetly put us behind schedule, the Trinity team wants to assure our community members that there is much work being done to allow us to open as soon as possible.

We are in the final stages of completing the parent handbook as well as confirming our tuition rates. Once complete, we will post them online for your review. We have plans to conduct a “Preschool Round Up” event within the next several weeks to allow interested families an opportunity to pre-register your child, meet some of our staff and ask any questions you may have relating to our program. We will post more details regarding that event as it gets closer.

We are also moving forward with our plans for our permanent preschool at the Trinity Oaks property and hope to have this building operating around the start of the 2018 calendar year. Our plan is to move all of our currently enrolled children into the new facility when it opens.

It is truly an exciting time to be in preschool at Trinity!

The staff and congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church look forward to expanding our service to the community through Trinity Oaks Preschool and are already praying for your child, your family and our community as we strive to be a resource for you.

If you have any questions, or would like to be placed on our list of interested families for further communication, please contact me via email at aironrope@tlcbr.org.
