Nottingham Nursing Home
Every Tuesday morning at 10:00 am, Trinity leads worship service at the Nottingham Nursing Home (formerly Sherwood Manor). Come help share the love of Christ by bringing residents from their rooms, assisting them with worship, and visiting. The service is always lead by one of the Pastors and has regular members in attendance each week.
Southeast Ministries Association
Trinity Lutheran Church is a partner of Southeast Ministries Association, a group of churches of different denominations who come together to serve the greater Baton Rouge area. The Southeast Ministries office is located at the corner of Sharp Rd and Mollylea at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Pastor Dave Buss and Mr. Steve Miller currently serve on the Board of Directors but other members of the church are welcome to visit the board meetings. Southeast Ministries is always looking for volunteers to work in the food pantry, office, or to collect food items. Although the group is mainly a food pantry, they occasionally give other assistance as determined necessary by an interviewer. If you are interested in serving at Southeast Ministries, call Steve Miller at 225-235-6225. Carts are available in the Narthex and Church Hallway for you to add groceries or diapers to donate to this ministry.
Manna Givers serves food at the St. Vincent dePaul Sweet Dreams Women's and Children's Shelter on the 2nd Friday of each month. We are always in need of people to make food for about 30 women and children and go to the shelter to visit with and serve the group. Usually a main dish, salad or side dish, rolls and dessert are needed. (Drinks are provided by the shelter.) Call Mary Sitton at 225-278-1135 if you would like to help with Manna Givers.
Each 2nd and 4th Sunday at 1:30 - 3:00 pm join this group of individuals with cognitive disabilities and their care-givers at Trinity Oaks, as they worship Christ with singing, praying, crafts, and a meal. You will truly be blessed by the experience of worshiping with and/or helping this awesome group! People of all ages and cognitive levels are welcome. Parents, caregivers, and friends from within Trinity, and from other churches, participate in and share the joy of ministering to this exceptional group of individuals. For more information, email Bruce at email@example.com.
Just outside the parking lot of Trinity is the city bus stop. The Water Ministry serves our community by sharing a cold bottle of water and Portals of Prayer which are located outside near the sanctuary doors. There is also a prayer request box. Members of the church are encouraged to donate bottled water since, as you can imagine, many bottles are used each year. Please bring your donations to the hall outside the church office.
58 Watt Coffee Shop
Located at 15160 S. Harrells Ferry Rd., the coffee shop offers free coffee, espresso beverages, hot cocoa, and baked goods each Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm. There is live music, conversation, wireless Internet and an opportunity to interact with members and non-members in a relaxing, Christian environment. Everyone is welcome!
"...once you were in darkness, now you are light..." Ephesians 5:8
The Kasserole Krewe serves Christ by sharing casseroles with those who are home bound, are ill, or have recently undergone surgery. Members prepare, package, and bring meals that can be frozen to the church freezer. If you would like to visit someone and take a casserole, they are always available. Please stop by the church office if you would like to take a casserole to someone's home. We ALWAYS need casseroles, why not make some extra when cooking for your own family and be a part of this ministry!
