The Flight of Our Flock

The Trinity pelicans made their way around Baton Rouge over the past several weeks. They visited 30 homes, were blocked from another 11 homes by flocking insurance, and collected over $2,800 for our National Youth Gathering!

Thank you to all who participated and were so generous to our youth!

The Youth Gathering is a place for us to grow in our faith journey as believers. Not only will this strengthen our relationship with our heavenly father, but it will strengthen our relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ and form a greater sense of community.

What is Yard Flocking?

Yard Flocking is a fundraiser for our Youth Group that is a congregation-wide game. Send the flock of pelicans to someone you love to remind them that they are part of THE FLOCK—The flock at Trinity Lutheran Church as well as the flock of believers in Christ.

Phase 1

Block the Flock

  • You will have the opportunity to purchase insurance, with a minimum donation cost of $50, to prevent the flock from landing on your yard.
  • This insurance policy can be bought out if someone is willing to pay more than your policy is worth.
  • The more you donate, the less likely you will be bought out!

Phase 2

The Flock has Landed!

  • If your yard is flocked, you will be able to donate (no minimum required) to have the flock sent to another TLC Family.
  • Detailed instructions will be given when the flock lands.
  • The flock will continue to move from yard to yard until they have found their final landing spot.
