God is Listening
Dear Pastor Crowe and Members of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Thank you very much for regularly supporting me as an LCMS missionary for many years. I do so appreciate your generosity. Your gifts help make it possible for me to continue to serve the Lord here in Hong Kong. I would like to share with you how wonderfully God provides for our needs. A while back, Ann, a full-time church worker at one of our Lutheran Church-Hong Kong Synod churches, told me that she wanted free face masks to hand out with Gospel tracts. I told her I knew of organizations which provided such masks in quantity. But after looking everywhere for several weeks, I could not find any such masks. As I put my hand on the phone to call Ann and tell her I was so sorry I had failed and could find no free masks, the phone rang. It was a senior citizen whom I had not seen for over a year. We had been in a prayer group on Zoom together, but I had little contact with him except for that prayer meeting. He began by saying, “I am wondering whether or not you might be able to use some face masks.”
Ann and Carol giving a Gospel tract and some masks to a senior citizen in the park near Abundant Life Lutheran Church, where Ann serves.
He continued, “My children want to provide free face masks for people in Hong Kong, but they don’t know how to do that.” Two days later 10,000 face masks were delivered to my door. What an answer to prayer! It is like God says in Isaiah 65:24, “Before they call, I will answer. While they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
Thank you again for your part in making it possible for me to be here in Hong Kong using all different ways to proclaim the Gospel to the Chinese people.
