Revelation Sermon series– Week 3 PREVIEW

Jesus has now established that He is the one who holds the seven stars (all of Creation) and the seven lampstands (Churches). He is Lord over the kingdoms of earth and the Church. Now, specifically dealing with the Church, as Lord He both leads the church and ultimately judges the church too. In chapters two and three, Jesus dictates seven letters to the seven Churches addressing the moral and doctrinal issues they were failing to live up to. In doing so, He captures the entirety of the struggle of Christendom—to be faithful. These sins Jesus identifies are sins that all Christians must guard against lest we fall away (unbelievers don’t wrestle with these sins.)
